Are you suggesting one should itemize the grocery receipt to each individual item? Part of me (the OCD) likes that idea and the other part says - that's too much!
I think my main point was to look at the effect that purchases have on your life. It's true that there are often so many things you buy at a grocery store that there could be a similar variety of effects. Next time, I will try to make a better example so it doesn't imply such a herculean task as itemizing each item on a grocery list!
