I also love how records like these strengthen and later recall memories. I haven’t yet finished the process, but I’m adding old financial records going back to around 2010, and just those transactions tell me so much about what was happening in my life at the time.
In a similar vein (though unrelated to PTA), I’ve adopted the practice of taking photos of things whenever I can. I don’t even care at this point what they look like, since they’re not meant for anyone else—I just want something that can jog my memory when I see it years from now.
