Off-topic, but Eqonomize, software I hadn't come across, had its first release on 2006-07-17! It's amazing how committed people can be to FOSS development.
Wow! Is there no end to the finding of mature accounting software projects one has not heard of!
Eqonomize is a featureful cross platform QT-based GUI accounting app using XML as its data format. It is actively maintained, yet has only 116 github stars (!)

Interop with GnuCash would be also interesting to know about, five GnuCash also does XML
